A look into Mantra Sound's Astonishing Dulcet Speaker... Having lived with the Dulcets for nearly 6 months we have become very acquainted with the sound they are capable of producing. One word...MAGIC!!! These are the most stunning speakers we have ever experienced as they resolve everything from top to bottom in perfect coherency. Starting with the unique high and mid frequency portion you will notice that there is NO annoying horn sound. Only the lowest midrange octaves are developed by the horn while the rest of the spectrum is directly radiated by two proprietary lightening fast drivers. Another point here is that these lower mids developed by the horn originates from the speed of these drivers. This is why the coherency and pace of the top end is so fantastic. With this you will hear a presence in voices and percussions that are simply uncanny. It just sounds so correct or should we say so live. In our experience we have noticed that horns can sound a bit "honky" in the voices and smeared in the highs quite possibly due to the frequency being reflected within the horn. Yes, the dynamics were always better which is extremely important and necessary but the trade-off of "honkiness" was the deterring factor for not using them. Quite frankly, we disregarded horns until now. So, how's the bass? Same word...MAGIC! Mantra Sound speakers also provides us with the second best bass we have experienced thus far. We say second because only Audio Consulting's reference speaker system using four 15 inch drivers in Onken C37 cabinets were better. But this is another story for another day and maybe even a signature version for the Dulcets' we hope. The Dulcets use complementary lightening fast 12 inch bass drivers. A note of importance is the fact that the driver runs at equal efficiency of 98db with the horn thus there is NO external "boom box"type bass amplifier. It is immediately apparent that most bass systems tend to lack dynamics and punch after hearing the Dulcets. Also, what's extraordinary is the resolution you now hear in classical, orchestral, and jazz pieces. Yet, the dynamic punch in Norah Jones' tracks are just amazing proving that the resolution, delicacy, and thunderous dynamics may all exists together in harmony. Quite an accomplishment!! The real genius behind Mantra Sound is owner Guido Chiostri. Once hearing the Dulcets it is obvious he has true passion and intellect for speaker perfection. Having met Guido earlier this year he spoke of his dedication for speaker building and mentioned these Dulcets took him 6 years to develop! For those of you who are truly after spectacular sound then we confidently encourage a visit to our location here in Southern Sunny California. We promise an experience you will need to have!!!
